PAMM risks, and who this is wrong for
This page exists so you can say no with your eyes open. There is no counter-argument attached to each risk: only what happens if the risk materialises.
Anyone guaranteeing a return on financial markets is misleading you. There are no guarantees here.
The drawdown to prepare for
By the developer's estimate you should plan for drawdown of 10 to 22%. History keeps it around 10 to 12%, but live trading should be counted as twice as bad as the test. Risk in the settings is set at 5 to 7 out of 10.
Drawdown has already happened: around 8% across the turn of July and August 2026.
Decide in advance whether you could watch that decline on screen without pulling out. That is the question that matters, not the expected return.
An individual month can close down
Returns are uneven. July 2026 added 1%, August 27%. That spread between neighbouring months is normal here, not a malfunction.
The developer says plainly that losing months will come. Every month has closed up so far, but that is a property of a short sample, not of the system.
One instrument, no risk spreading
Trading runs on gold only, XAUUSD. The result depends entirely on how one asset moves.
There is no spreading of risk across instruments inside the PAMM account. If gold settles into a regime that suits the strategy badly, there is nothing to offset it.
The risks by category
- Market risk
- A run of losing trades is possible. The stop loss caps the loss on one trade, not on a sequence of them.
- Algorithm risk
- Patterns that worked on history can stop working. That is not equipment failure, it is the market behaving differently.
- Execution risk
- The filled price differs from the calculated one. On a fast market the gap widens.
- Broker risk
- The money sits with the broker. It holds no financial regulator licence and there is no compensation fund. Broker risk exists at every broker; what differs is its size.
- Liquidity risk
- You can only leave the PAMM account at the Saturday rollover, and up to a week passes between the request and the money. There is no instant exit.
Who this is wrong for
- This is your last money, or a sum whose loss would change your plans
- You expect a fixed profit every month
- You are coming in for three weeks and intend to check the account daily
- Ordinary drawdown would have you messaging the manager at night asking what to do
- You are looking for a bank deposit with a clear rate
- You are a resident of the EU, the US, Australia, Israel, Japan or the UAE: the broker does not serve you
Who it may fit
- You are committing part of your capital and understand that part is at risk
- You judge the result over distance, not by a single trade or week
- You want an instrument that works without your involvement
- You look at the numbers first and decide afterwards
Why we name no target return
A figure for expected return means nothing without a figure for expected drawdown: any return can be produced by raising risk.
So we publish the drawdown we plan for, and the monthly results with a link to the monitor. We name no target return, not per month, not per year.
Commit only what you are prepared to lose.
Still to be confirmed
{TODO: target countries and jurisdiction limits beyond the six listed; single wording for per-trade risk}
